Toyota jual pegangan dalam Denso untuk dana pembangunan EV
Toyota dan dua syarikat subsidiarinya (Toyota Industries dan Aisin) akan menjual pegangan bernilai 700 bilion yen dalam syarikat pembekal komponen automotif Denso.
Berkemungkinan besar langkah tersebut dibuat bertujuan untuk membiayai pembangunan kenderaan elektrik (EV).
Secara keseluruhan, penjualan ini merangkumi 10 peratus pegangan di dalam Denso, di mana kira-kira separuh daripadanya datang daripada Toyota.
Dalam masa yang sama, Denso juga merancang untuk membeli semula sebahagian daripada pegangan yang telah dijual sebagai langkah untuk mengelakkan harga saham menjunam terlalu rendah, menurut laporan Reuters.
Sehingga September, Toyota memegang 24.2 peratus pegangan dalam Denso.
Walaupun selepas penjualan saham dibuat, Toyota masih lagi kekal sebagai pemegang kepentingan terbesar di dalam Denso.
Toyota sebelum ini mengumumkan strategi untuk meningkatkan produksi EV dengan menggunakan teknologi gigapress yang sama digunakan oleh Tesla, selain menghasilkan EV dengan jarak gerak lebih jauh menggunakan teknologi bateri jenis pejal.
Selain daripada itu, Toyota juga merancang untuk meneruskan pengeluaran kenderaan hibrid dan hidrogen.
