MAS terima unit pertama Boeing 737-800
MALAYSIA Aviation Group (MAG), syarikat penaung kepada Malaysia Airlines semalam telah menyambut ketibaan pesawat Boeing 737-8 (737-800) pertama mereka.
Pesawat dengan nombor pendaftara 9M-MVA itu berlepas dari Seattle Delivery Centre milik Boeing pada 13 November 2023 jam 10:20 pagi waktu tempatan ke Honolulu. Ia kemudian terbang ke Guam sebelum tiba ke Malaysia.
Penerbangan MH5041 itu diterbangkan oleh Kapten Mohd. Ezaddin Roslan, kapten Izahariman Ibrahim, dan Kapten Arian Syazwara Adenan, mendarat di Lapangan Terbang Antarabangsa Kuala Lumpur (KLIA) jam 10:30 pagi. Penerbangan itu mengambil masa keseluruhan 21 jam 45 minit.
Pesawat itu dengan megahnya membawa livery bendera Malaysia dengan logo bermotifkan songket dan wau baharu, dan disambut dengan tabik air (water salute) semasa ketibaannya.
Boeing 737-8 baharu ini dijadualkan membuat penerbangan komersial pertamanya ke Kota Kinabalu pada 20 November depan.
Perolehan Boeing 737-8 adalah Sebagian dari strategi pemodenan syarikat penerbangan itu bagi meningkatkan pengalaman pelanggan, kecekapan operasi, dan menepati keperluan perkembangan di masa depan.
737-8 ini dilengkapi dengan sistem hiburan dalam penerbangan tanpa-wayar yang canggih, menghidangkan pelbagai kandungan bagi penumpang. Ia mempunyai konfigurasi 12 tempat duduk kelas perniagaan dan 162 tempat duduk ekonomi.
MAG telah memesan 25 unit 737-8 keseluruhannya dan penghantara dijangka dibuat secara berperingkat hingga 2026.
