MotoGP: Marc Marquez yakin akan kemalangan di Sepang
Gresini Racing menjadi pasukan pertama untuk memperkenalkan skuad baharu menjelang Kejuaraan Dunia MotoGP musim 2024 yang akan membuka tirai pada Mac.
Bagaimanapun, sebelum itu para pelumba akan ke Litar Antarabangsa Sepang (SIC) pada Februari bagi sesi Sepang Shakedown pada 1 hingga 3 Februari dan ujian rasmi pada 6 hingga 8 Februari.
Fokus ujian kali ini pastinya terarah pada lapan kali juara dunia Marc Marquez yang bakal menguji kemampuan jentera Ducati selepas meninggalkan pasukan Honda pada penghujung musim lalu.
Sehubungan itu, Marquez dalam satu kenyataan selepas perasmian pasukan satelit Ducati itu pada Ahad mengakui tidak sabar untuk menguji jentera Desmosedici GP di Sepang.
“Ketika (ujian) di Valencia, gaya tunggangan saya agak lancar tetapi saya belum pasti sama ada itu adalah gaya saya bersama Ducati. Pada masa sama, ketika itu saya belum bersedia untuk menunggang secara agresif.
“Jadi saya tidak sabar untuk menguji jentera di Malaysia dan Qatar yang sememangnya litar sukar bagi saya setiap tahun,” jelasnya.
Marquez sememangnya terkenal dengan gaya menunggang yang agresif sehinggakan musim lalu, enam kali juara dunia MotoGP itu jatuh 29 kali.
“Saya perlu mengambil risiko untuk mencari had sebenar jentera dan ini adalah gaya saya. Pada masa sama, untuk menjadi lebih pantas saya perlu mengambil risiki besar.
“Oleh itu saya yakin akan merekodkan kemalangan pertama di Malaysia atau Qatar. Lebih baik kemalangan ketika sesi ujian berbanding perlumbaan sebenar!” tambah Marquez.
Pelumba Sepanyol itu akan bersama-sama adiknya, Alex (Marquez) di kem Gresini Racing musim ini.
