Tesla batal projek EV mampu milik?
Berita berkenaan kehadiran sebuah lagi model aras mula yang akan diposisikan di bawah Tesla Model 3 telah pun lama berlegar di ruang maya sejak beberapa tahun yang lalu.
Sama ada projek tersebut masih lagi berjalan atau tergendala, hanya Elon Musk sahaja yang tahu.
Namun menurut laporan terkini daripada Reuters, Tesla dikatakan telah membatalkan projek kenderaan elektrik (EV) mampu milik dengan julat harga sekitar $25,000 (RM118,675).
Laporan itu tidak menyebut secara spesifik sebab pembatalan projek tersebut, namun dipercayai Tesla terkesan dengan kehadiran pelbagai jenis model pesaing daripada negara China.
Selain daripada itu, Reuters turut memetik beberapa sumber yang mendakwa keputusan itu telah pun dibuat sejak lewat Februari lagi.
Malah, satu mesej bertarikh 1 Mac menasihatkan kakitangan kejuruteraan supaya tidak memberitahu pembatalan program tersebut kepada para pembekal.
Satu lagi sumber mendakwa Tesla sedang mengalihkan tumpuan daripada menghasilkan kereta mampu milik kepada pembangunan teksi robot (robotaxi).
Tesla tidak memberikan sebarang maklum balas, namun CEO-nya Elon Musk menjelaskan di dalam laman mikroblog X (Twitter) dengan berkata, “Reuters sedang menipu (lagi).”
Tesla Model 2 digembar-gemburkan sebagai sebuah hatchback kecil yang mampu memberikan saingan kepada Chevrolet Bolt dan Nissan Leaf.
Namun, sejak khabar angin tentang kewujudan Tesla Model 2 tersebar, trend pemilikan EV telah pun banyak berubah.
Malah, beberapa laporan terkini mendedahkan permintaan terhadap kenderaan elektrik kini semakin menurun, dan beberapa pengeluar mula menyemak semula perancangan mereka untuk menjadi jenama EV sepenuh masa.
Di negara China itu sendiri Tesla berdepan dengan saingan yang cukup hebat, sehinggakan keadaan memaksa pengeluar US itu ‘membuang’ harga beberapa kali demi memberikan cabaran kepada EV yang lebih mampu milik di sana.
